Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar on Thursday met the Vice Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Sun Haiyan, in Islamabad, with discussions focusing on bilateral relations, the regional situation and matters of mutual interest. According to an official statement, DPM Dar appreciated the important role played by the Communist Party of China in further strengthening the enduring bonds of friendship between Pakistan and China. The two sides welcomed the inauguration of celebrations marking the 75th anniversary of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations, jointly launched earlier this month by Senator Dar and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in China. Both sides agreed to maintain the momentum of high-level exchanges, further enhance inter-party cooperation and continue efforts to deepen bilateral ties. The meeting also underscored the importance of expanding cultural cooperation and promoting people-to-people exchanges, including academic collaboration, youth interactions and cultural initiatives, to foster greater mutual understanding between the two countries.
