Private rents drop across Finland for first time on record

Private rental prices across Finland fell at the end of 2025 in a nationwide decline not previously recorded in official statistics, according to data from Statistics Finland . The fourth-quarter figures show a broad-based drop in free-market rents, with decreases registered in 23 cities. In the capital region, rents fell 1.3 percent compared to the previous year, while elsewhere in the country, the drop was 0.5 percent. The national average decline was 0.8 percent, marking the first such nationwide contraction in the data series dating back to 2015.
