Maz and Harriet are just two of the Traitors contestants pictured with two separate envelopes after their eliminations – leaving many fans to speculate that another twist is coming Eagle-eyed Traitors fans are convinced that another big reveal is coming before the end of the current series of the BBC reality show. After each episode, companion series The Traitors: Uncloaked shows the murdered and banished contestants opening up a scroll to finally reveal to them who the Traitors are . However, keen viewers have noticed a second scroll is sitting beside all the eliminated contestants, which has consistently remained unopened in each episode. Previous instalments have even lingered on this second piece of paper, hinting that it may have relevance later down the line, leading fans to speculate as to whether another later-season twist or reveal is coming… There HAS to be a big twist coming up on The Traitors, because what is in that second scroll? Surely that’s not going to be just “Roxy and Judy are Mum and daughter” and “Ross and Ellie are dating”. #TheTraitors #TheTraitorsUK pic.twitter.com/4H7bjTMyTm — Wando (@Wandoful) January 14, 2026 What is this second envelope which keeps appearing on #TheTraitors uncloaked?! Is there ANOTHER secret or twist in the series...? pic.twitter.com/SzNnZGGAMK — Nicola Austin (@nicola_aus) January 14, 2026 On uncloaked tonight, there were two scrolls/letters on the table next to Reece and I think i have seen the same at other meetings of the banished / murdered. One scroll is the list of Traitors. What is on the other one? #TraitorsUK #TheTraitors — Lindsay Scott (@linsinoz) January 10, 2026 Whats the second scroll on the table that they never read on uncloaked ? #thetraitorsuncloaked #Traitors — ScottyP (@ScottPearson2) January 14, 2026 The most popular fan theory is that the scroll contains other connections that the contestants had with their castmates before signing up . It has already been revealed that Judy is Roxy’s mother, and that Ross and Ellie are in a relationship – but could there be even more that we have yet to see ? Some fans even suspect that every member of the cast is connected to someone else on the show, and that these links will be revealed in the last week of episodes. Yea - is going to be a scroll of who’s connected to who. So banished/murdered people will read it when they leave the castle, but they’ll probably do a special uncloaked where they show that right at the end of the series. #traitors https://t.co/FTb1QPDN5l — ForestFanFamily ⭐️⭐️ (@ForestFanF13794) January 15, 2026 Top scroll always reveals who the traitors were But they always show there is a second but we never see them open it I guess later in the series something will be revealed and then we’ll see all their reactions to that news I’m guessing it’s to do with relationships — Jailender (@Jailender) January 15, 2026 I think it tells them who is related to someone else - but they won’t broadcast them being opened until it’s already been revealed on air — Hilary Corfan (@HilCorfan) January 10, 2026 Speaking to Metro after her exit aired, first eliminee Judy revealed that there had been a rumour of another family link floating around the castle during filming. “I think there could be more secret connections,” she teased, claiming that some contestants had suspected that Faraaz and Maz were secretly father and son. The theory about more secret connections is backed up by the introduction of a “family tree” picture, which has sat at the entrance of the Scottish castle throughout this series. In this framed image, all the contestants are depicted alongside a Latin phrase which translates as: “The sharpest knives are often handed to the table by faithful servants. Among intimate friends lurk the most secret enemies; take care not to let your confidence become the cause of your downfall and agitation.” The Traitors continues on Thursday and Friday at 8pm on BBC One.
