PNP welcomes proposal to separate IAS from police force

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Friday said it welcomed a proposal to separate the Internal Affairs Service (IAS) from the law enforcement agency in a bid to strengthen the police force’s disciplinary mechanisms. The IAS is an office within the PNP handling administrative cases against erring police officers. In a statement from his office, acting PNP chief Lt. Gen.
