ISLAMABAD: The Punjab government on Thursday transferred the Superintendent of Adiala Jail, where Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding chairman Imran Khan and several other high-profile prisoners are currently incarcerated. According to a notification issued by the Punjab Home Department, Superintendent of Adiala Jail Abdul Ghafoor Anjum has been transferred and posted as Superinten-dent, Central Jail Faisalabad, while Sajid Baig, previously serving as Superintendent of Central Jail Faisalabad, has been appointed as the new Superintendent of Adiala Jail.The notification also announced several other postings and transfers within the Punjab Prisons Department. Haq Nawaz has been appointed Superintendent, District Jail Attock, while the incumbent superintendent Ishtiaq Ahmed Gill has been suspended and directed to report to the Inspectorate of Prisons, Punjab. Meanwhile, Tipu Sultan has been posted as Superintendent, District Jail Mandi Bahauddin, Sohail Nabi Gill as Superintendent, District Jail Lodhran, and Aftab Ahmed as Superintendent, District Jail Vehari.
