Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited the renovated emergency department at the Korgialeneio-Benakio General Hospital of Athens (Hellenic Red Cross) on Friday afternoon. The Greek Premier along with Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis and Deputy Minister Marios Themistokleous, was given a tour of the hospital's new state-of-the-art emergency facilities by the hospital administrator. Mitsotakis spoke with staff and patients, about the reforms being implemented within the National Health System to upgrade services and enhance working conditions. The renovation is being funded entirely by the Recovery and Resilience Fund.The first phase of the project, which involved the renovation of an 800 sq m area and the installation of modern medical equipment, has been completed. The works include patient triage and recovery areas, examination rooms, clinics such as ophthalmology and ear, nose and throat, as well as facilities for the National Ambulance Service, paramedics, the reception office and nursing staff.
