CM for horticultural beautification of Punjab cities

LAHORE: Regional agencies operating under the Punjab Horticulture Authority (PHA) will extend the “Adopt A Park” scheme—earlier launched in Lahore—to other cities across the province, Director General PHA Raja Mansoor Ahmad said on Friday. He said Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has placed special emphasis on the horticultural beautification of cities. In this regard, he directed horticulture agencies to focus on the upkeep and beautification of parks, gardens and green belts, and to ensure the timely availability of required materials for the upcoming floral plantation season. He further instructed all regional agencies to promptly communicate their requirements regarding staff, machinery and financial resources to the parent body, which would then present a consolidated proposal to the provincial government. He also directed that, in line with the provincial government’s policy, details of gardeners working in various government departments be obtained and necessary steps taken to secure their services for regional horticulture agencies.
