12 Indian-sponsored terrorists gunned down

ISLAMABAD: Security forces on Thursday killed 12 Indian-sponsored terrorists in multiple engagements after they carried out coordinated attacks in Kharan city of Balochistan. According to the military’s media wing, around 15 to 20 terrorists belonging to “Fitna Al Hindustan” launched multiple terrorist activities on January 15 in District Kharan, targeting the City Police Station as well as branches of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) and Habib Bank Limited (HBL). The ISPR said the attackers looted Rs 3.4 million from the banks during the assaults. It said security forces responded effectively and engaged the terrorists, forcing them to retreat. During the ensuing clearance operation, 12 terrorists were killed in three separate engagements. The ISPR added that the terrorists’ attempt to create a hostage situation at the police station was also successfully foiled.Sanitisation operations are continuing in surrounding areas to eliminate any remaining terrorists, the statement said, reiterating that the counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam”, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, will continue at full pace to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
