Governor for increased usage of e-vehicles

KARACHI: At the inauguration of SOGO e-bikes flagship outlet here on Friday, Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori advised the people to shift their mode of transport to e-vehicles to save our environment as the use of oil has resulted in hazardous climate change. “We have to cut down the use of petrol and diesel for a better environment needed for a healthy nation and good ecosystem,” he asserted. He said that the world is facing climate change creating serious health and other daily-life issues, in addition to severe damages to ecosystems. Pakistan is the worst-hit state and is paying a high price for other countries that are the major contributors to the alarming scenario of climate change. He emphasized the business community that instead of limiting to selling imported e-vehicles they should come up with manufacturing plants of these vehicles, particularly e-bikes, to make these easily available at very affordable price. He said small and medium-sized entrepreneurs and small businesses be extended maximum facilities and support as the national economy will not be strengthened unless the uplift of these small entities. He offered his full cooperation and facilitation to the traders and industrialists, especially from Karachi, to get their issues resolved and attract more investment to this megacity which is the economic hub of the country. “Doors of the Governor House are open for the business community, you people can use this office for the promotion of trade and industry. I’ll lobby for you wherever needed,” Tessori resolved. He said that Pakistan’s armed forces by defeating India, the 5-times larger country, have earned confidence of the world and made the country attractive for investment. Many countries including China, Saudi Arabia, Turkiyie, UAE, and Indonesia have shown big interest in entering partnerships with Pakistan in various sectors including the defence. The Governor said that the 10th May war has been won and we are a victorious nation.
