"Hundreds of farmers took to the streets of Caracas to demand the release of former Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and first lady Cilia Flores, detained on January 3 during a US attack. Footage captured on Friday in Caracas shows the rally called by the Ministry of Productive Agriculture and Lands. The starting point was the Paseo de la Resistencia Indigena, where protesters reiterated their support for Nicolas Maduro. "Here we remain, knee on the ground, standing and fighting every day that is necessary until they give us back our president Nicolas Maduro. We are not willing to lose," said participant Rosibel Zamora. During the rally, messages were also directed at US President Donald Trump, whom they blamed for more than 100 deaths caused during the operation. "The message is for you Donald Trump - murderer, give back our president Nicolas Maduro Moros. Long live the homeland!" Zamora added. Other protesters condemned the US attack and said that Venezuela's natural riches cannot be taken away by foreign countries. "They cannot subjugate us by taking away the natural resources of our homeland. Natural resources belong to Venezuela and belong to Venezuelans. Respect the sovereignty of peoples!" said another rally-goer, Anyulis Zacarias. The march ended on Urdaneta Avenue, where spokespeople for the farmers reaffirmed their commitment to the Bolivarian revolution and the country's sovereignty. Currently, Nicolas Maduro and Cilia Flores are being held at a detention centre in New York, where they stand accused of acts of narco-terrorism."
