"Venezuela's Defence Minister, Vladimir Padrino, led a ceremony honouring military and civilian personnel involved in the defence during the 3 January US attacks, and announced support for bereaved families. "And what have our men and women of the Bolivarian National Armed Force done in the face of military aggression? They gave their lives. They fulfilled their duty to history, to the homeland, and to our national sovereignty. Honour and glory to the heroes and heroines," Padrino said during an official event held at the headquarters of the Ministry of People's Power for Defence in Caracas. The minister also reported that the US attacks left more than 80 people dead, including members of the Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB) and Cuban military personnel, as well as more than a hundred wounded. "Forty-seven men and women of the Bolivarian National Armed Force, nine women among them, who gave their lives," Padrino said, adding that "32 comrades from the Republic of Cuba who were with us also offered their lives." Venezuela's Defence Minister added that a special commission has been activated, on the instruction of interim president Delcy Rodriguez, to provide social and economic assistance to the families of those killed and wounded in the US attacks.  Padrino stressed the FANB would continue the implementation of the Ayacucho Plan 2024–2030, a long-term strategy launched by Maduro to modernise the armed forces. The plan aims to restructure territorial commands, create new operational units, upgrade technology and strengthen civil-military cooperation to better respond to external threats."
