Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin announced a government job for the top bull tamer at the Jallikattu event in Alanganallur. The competition is part of Mattu Pongal festivities. Jallikattu is a traditional sport where participants attempt to tame bulls. Extensive safety and medical arrangements were made for the event. The breed of bulls used is Pulikulam or Kangayam.
