LAHORE: The Pakistan Horticulture Development and Export Company (PHDEC) has formally inaugurated its field office in Sargodha at Sargodha Chamber of Commerce and Industry, marking a major step toward strengthening on-ground support for citrus growers and exporters. An orientation session was held with leading exporters, growers, processors, and institutions, who widely welcomed the initiative as timely and critical for closer coordination, faster issue resolution, and revival of citrus exports. The Sargodha field office will serve as a direct coordination hub for stakeholders, provincial departments, research institutions, and trade missions abroad, focusing on market access, introduction of commercially viable late-season varieties, value addition, and market-driven, research-based interventions to enhance Pakistan’s citrus competitiveness.
