Age not an issue for star runners at HK Marathon

There was plenty of star power on display at the Hong Kong marathon on Sunday, with Chow Yun-fat and other veteran thespians showing that age is just a number by completing the 10k race. Chow ran alongside familiar faces such as Lau Kong, fellow Hong Kong Film Awards Best Actor Kent Cheng, and Nina Paw. Chow described Lau as the group’s “spiritual leader”. "Lau is our teacher, and he's going to be 80 this year. So we decided to join him and run, and this is like the biggest gift to him," Chow told reporters. "The results don’t really matter – we just wanted to finish the race, and say hello to the audience." Local boxer Rex Tso was also among the star-studded lineup that took part in the annual event, saying he used his boxing skills to navigate through the crowd in the 10k race. "This was like my boxing training... When I bumped into the crowd, it was like footwork training, as I dodged the runners one after another," he said with a chuckle. Many participants said it was good weather for running, saying even though the temperature was somewhat high, it was relatively dry.
