There is, on the face of it, something childish about our excitement when an Irish person wins an Oscar, or even looks like they might be in with a chance. In the media in recent weeks, there has been a quest to find everyone who has ever known Jessie Buckley, in any meaning­ful sense, to confirm that not only is she supremely talented, but she is a lovely person.
