Lit Paris - Hundreds join Saint Genevieve torchlight march, anti-fascist counter-demo shows support for migrants

"Hundreds of people joined a torchlight march in honour of Saint Genevieve, patron saint of the French capital, on Friday night in Paris. Footage shows activists marching with lit torches, banners and flags to Saint Genevieve church. Increased police personnel escorted the march. On the same day, antifascist counter-demonstrations were called across the city to condemn the alleged anti-migration nature of the march. People showed hand signs and booed at passing march attendees. Some were spotted waving lit flares. The 22nd edition of the annual march was reportedly called by 'Paris Fierte', replacing the now-dissolved youth group 'Generation Identitaire'. According to Christian tradition, Saint Genevieve is venerated as the protector of Paris against invaders."
