Solon urges swift passage of bill exempting OFWs from PhilHealth fees

MANILA, Philippines — Tingog Party-list Rep. Jude Acidre on Sunday called for the swift passage of a bill amending the Universal Health Care (UHC) Act, which has been pending before the House Committee on Health since July 2025. Under House Bill No. 2, co-authored by Acidre, overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) would no longer be required to directly pay Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) premiums, as half of the contribution would be covered by the national government and the other half by their employers.
