MANILA, Philippines — As Tropical Storm Ada continues to weaken, wind signals in Luzon and Visayas provinces have been lifted except for two Bicol provinces which remain under Signal No. 1, the weather agency said on Sunday. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said only Catanduanes and the northeastern portion of Camarines Sur (Garchitorena, Lagonoy, Presentacion, Caramoan, San Jose, Siruma, Tinambac) in Bicol are being affected by “Ada.” Likely to remain a tropical storm while moving over the sea east of Luzon, “Ada” was forecast to weaken into a tropical depression by Tuesday afternoon or evening, Nathaniel Servando, chief of Pagasa, said. Estimated at 205 kilometers northeast of Virac, Catanduanes, the tropical storm is moving northeastward slowly while packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.
