MANILA, Philippines— Authorities seized counterfeit footwear and other items worth P197 million in Pulilan, Bulacan last January 17, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said. Acting PNP chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez, Jr. praised the swift coordination among operating units, saying it showed “that the PNP is serious in enforcing the law.” “Protecting legitimate businesses and the Filipino people is always our priority,” Nartates said. The operation involved personnel from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and the Pulilan Municipal Police Station. Acting on a valid search warrant for violation of RA 8293, authorities seized 1,119 boxes of counterfeit footwear valued at P141,024,000, 30 sacks of footwear accessories valued at P39,000,000 and machines. Several Chinese were arrested.
