'Infamous attacks' - Rodriguez claims more than 400 apartments destroyed from US 'aggression' in Caracas

"Venezuela's interim president, Delcy Rodriguez, reported that more than 463 apartments were affected by the US's 'infamous attack' in Caracas on January 3, during a tour of the Heroina de la Patria commune on Sunday. She also announced the creation of two social funds that will be allocated to 'social protection' and the country's public services and infrastructure. "Those funds are to socially balance inequalities, and those funds will be at the service of our people," she said. Despite the damage caused by the US attack, Delcy Rodriguez stated that the country remains hopeful that President Nicolas Maduro and first lady Cilia Flores will be released by the United States. "The feeling our people have is one of unity, of rejection of any form of aggression that threatens the peace and tranquillity of the Republic," she continued. "The best response is calm, patience and strategic prudence". In addition to the hundreds of homes affected, during the US attack, 32 Cuban military personnel and 47 Venezuelan combatants were killed. At least four research centres of the Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research (IVIC) were also hit."
