A Texas woman has been charged with aggravated assault after she allegedly threw an 11kg weight disc at a woman’s head in a jealous rage. Aralyn Martinez is accused of the assault at a 24 Hour Fitness gym after she recognised a woman her partner was involved with. Court documents obtained by the Daily Mail claimed Martinez, 24, confronted Cindy Aguillar on January 7, and screamed; “B****, I’m going to drop this 25-pound weight plate on you”. “During the altercation, the suspect threw a weighted plate toward the complainant’s head, attempting to cause injury,” Constable Mark Herman claimed in a now viral social media post. Herman said Martinez was arrested and held at Harris County jail, charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Her bond was set at $1735, which she posted the next day. In an interview with the Daily Mail, Aguillar described Martinez as “unstable,” claiming the man at the centre of the dispute is “not her boyfriend, never was“. Commenters on Herman’s online post expressed disappointment towards Martinez. “Girl. He isn’t worth it,” one Facebook user wrote. “If he wasn’t the one to bail you out, it’s time to dead the relationship for real,” another said. “Girl was on a mission. Street clothes. She wasn’t there to work out,“ a third wrote, adding ”show the pic, I want to see what she was fighting for”. A fourth offered Martinez some age-old advice, saying; “There’s plenty of fish in the sea. You’re young find you someone else”. Martinez’s bond conditions banned her from drinking alcohol, using marijuana, or possessing weapons. She was prohibited from contacting Aguillar and ordered to remain at least 60m from the gym where the assault occurred.
