Impeachment complaint filed vs Marcos

MANILA, Philippines—An impeachment complaint was filed against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday at the House of Representatives. The complaint was filed by lawyer Andre de Jesus for graft and corruption, culpable violation of the constitution, and betrayal of public trust in connection with the arrest of former president Rodrigo Duterte, failure to veto unprogrammed appropriations, and Marcos’ alleged involvement in ghost projects. De Jesus said that Marcos is not fit to be president because of his alleged drug addiction that was revealed by his sister, Sen. Imee Marcos. The complaint was endorsed by Pusong Pinoy Party-list Rep. Jett Nisay. Nisay is among the several congressmen-contractors who had been recommended by the Independent Commission on Infrastructure to be charged with graft and malversation in connection with anomalous infrastructure projects.
