MANILA, Philippines — Five persons, including two minors, were injured after a fire hit a residential area in San Jose village in Mandaluyong City on Monday, January 19. The Bureau of Fire Protection said the fire broke out shortly after 6 a.m. and rapidly escalated to reach third alarm. Firefighters put out the blaze after three hours. Authorities said five individuals, including two boys aged 11 and 16, and three men, were treated for abrasions, lacerations, and minor burn injuries. Investigators are determining the cause of the fire and the extent of property damage. The Philippine Red Cross said its volunteers deployed one fire truck and one ambulance to support firefighting operations and provide emergency medical assistance on site.
