DTI: No price hikes for 91% of basic goods

MANILA, Philippines — More than nine in 10 basic goods nationwide will keep the same prices this year, as manufacturers defer increases despite rising production costs. The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) said on Wednesday that 186 out of 205 stock-keeping units, or about 91 percent, of basic necessities and prime commodities recorded no price changes.
