COMMISSION on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) Secretary Dante Ang II met with stakeholders in Dubai recently to discuss the operating environment for Philippine Schools Overseas (PSO). The meeting addressed the importance of upholding high academic standards, fostering safe and supportive learning spaces, and enhancing cooperation through sustained information sharing and public awareness initiatives. Accompanied by CFO staff member Rowena Jubinal, Ang was hosted by the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai. He said the initiative was a testament to the Philippine government’s commitment to protecting the welfare of overseas Filipinos, particularly students, parents and families in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The UAE hosts the largest number of PSOs worldwide, making it a vital partner in advancing educational programs for the Filipino diaspora. Consul General Ambrosio Brian Enciso III emphasized that education remains a core pillar of diaspora well-being. ”Close coordination among Philippine authorities, host government partners and our schools overseas is essential to ensuring that Filipino learners are protected and well-supported throughout their educational journey,” Enciso said. Enciso described the meeting as a meaningful step toward deeper dialogue and shared responsibility.
