Saudi Arabia Deports 14,893 Illegal Residents In A Week

The Saudi security authorities have arrested a total of 19,101 illegal residents in a week. The arrests were made in the joint inspections, carried out by the security forces in collaboration with the relevant government agencies, during the period between February 12 and 18, the Ministry of Interior announced on Saturday. Those who were arrested include 12,153 violators of the Residency Law, 4,103 violators of the Border Security Law, and 2,845 violators of the Labour Law. A total of 14,893 illegal residents were deported, while 15,585 violators were referred to their diplomatic missions to obtain travel documents, and 1,389 violators were referred to complete their travel reservations. The total number of people arrested while trying to cross the border into the Kingdom was 1,663, of whom 45 per cent were Yemeni nationals, 54 per cent Ethiopian nationals, and 1 per cent belonged to other nationalities. A total of 31 people were arrested while attempting to leave the Kingdom illegally.
