No family visits allowed for Duterte during ICC hearings

MANILA, Philippines — No member of the family of former president Rodrigo Duterte has been allowed to visit him during the course of hearings to be conducted by the International Criminal Court (ICC). The tribunal will start the confirmation of charges hearing on Monday, February 23. "Telephone calls will continue to be made available," a statement issued by the Duterte family on Sunday said. It said that five Filipino lawyers will attend the hearings to ensure that Duterte is properly represented. They are Salvador Medialdea, Martin Delgra III, Silvestre Bello III, Alfredo Lim Jr., Caesar Dulay, and Salvador Panelo. The ICC set hearings for Feb. 23, 24, 26, and 27.
