Tradition meets tech - Qingxiushan Spring Festival lights up Nanning with stunning lanterns and drone show

"A dazzling ocean of lights illuminated Nanning's night sky on Saturday evening, as the Qingxiushan Spring Festival Lantern Festival returned to the city with traditional giant lantern displays and a cutting-edge UAV show. Footage shows visitors walking through alleys lit by countless lanterns, stopping to take photos beside giant Lunar New Year displays. At the Music Lawn, performers hurled molten iron into the air, where it burst into sparkling silver flowers, drawing loud cheers from the crowd. "I feel that the lantern festival is getting better and better every year," said Wei, a tourist. "Many of the lanterns are related to 'rolling in wealth' or the latest popular topics, and I think they should be very popular among everyone." The highlight of the festival is an impressive fusion of technology and cultural heritage, with numerous UAVs forming auspicious patterns conveying the common wish for a 'Happy New Year.'
"It felt very sci-fi because it displayed quite a lot of different shapes. When paired with other performances, it was really beautiful. I like this UAV performance very much," Wei shared. The Qingxiushan Spring Festival Lantern Festival kicked off on February 6 and is set to run until March 8."
