OIC to hold emergency foreign ministerial meeting Thursday to discuss Israeli acts

JEDDAH — The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will convene an emergency meeting of its Open-Ended Executive Committee at the level of foreign ministers. The meeting will be held at the OIC headquarters in Jeddah on Thursday, Feb. 26. The agenda of the meeting will revolve around recent actions by the Israeli occupation, including settlement expansion, annexation, and attempts to assert sovereignty over the occupied West Bank. The session aims to coordinate positions among member states and explore measures to confront these actions. Discussions will focus on the recent decision to initiate land settlement procedures in the occupied West Bank under the pretext of “state land.” The OIC said these steps form part of ongoing efforts to alter the legal, political, and demographic status of the Palestinian territories and undermine prospects for a two-state solution.
