Kim locked in! - DPRK leader secures five more years as nuclear programme grows *STILLS*

"Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) leader Kim Jong-un was re-elected as the ruling Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) general secretary on the fourth day of the party congress in Pyongyang. Footage released by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on Sunday shows the WPK Ninth Congress erupting in applause at the April 25 House of Culture.  The party head was elected "in accordance with the unshakable will and unanimous desire of all the delegates, millions of Party members, all the people and service personnel of the People's Army," as reported by the state media.  According to KCNA, under Kim's rule, "war deterrence of the country with the nuclear forces" has increased, while the DPRK "has dynamically advanced in the orbit of prosperity and the future destiny." Kim assumed the party's top post in 2011 following the death of his father and former DPRK leader, Kim Jong Il. Held quinquennially, the congress extended Kim's 15-year leadership by another five years.   The WPK's Ninth Congress kicked off on Thursday and is expected to continue for several days."
