Unpleasant weather blamed for fewer tourists on the Flemish coast during half-term despite ‘enduring appeal’

For Flemish schools half-term is well and truly behind us. Unpredictable February weather on the coast meant far fewer people holidayed at the seaside this year. The number of overnight stays is down by a quarter. However, last year's spring half-term was almost half a month later in the year and the weather was good. West Flemish tourist authority Westtoer is not dissatisfied with the results. ‘Even in less favourable weather, the coast remains a particularly stable holiday destination,’ it says.
