The latest update to Microsoft Edge has changed how the browser’s password manager works, reports Neowin . On Friday, Microsoft rolled out a new update to Edge version 145, removing support for master passwords for the browser’s password manager. It will no longer be possible to create a new master password to access the password manager in Edge. However, if you have already created a master password, you will be able to continue using it for a few more months. This is a big step towards forcing users to switch over to Windows Hello for password management. Users will be warned that their master password will only work until June 4th, 2026. After that, you will only be able to access the password manager via device authentication through Windows Hello.
