Manithaneya Makkal Katchi, a DMK ally, has requested five assembly seats for the upcoming Tamil Nadu elections. The party won two seats in the previous election. They will contest using the DMK's 'Rising Sun' symbol. Talks were held with DMK leaders. Other allies like MDMK also met the DMK seat-sharing committee.
