Authorities in Uttar Pradesh carried out major raids in Kanpur, seizing thousands of litres of adulterated oil and several kilograms of suspicious food items. The crackdown is aimed at ensuring food safety ahead of the festive season. Inspections targeted cold storage facilities, dairies and sweet shops, while similar checks are currently under way in Lucknow. Separately, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has launched an online training programme focused on food safety risk assessment.
