Microsoft is testing a new Windows 11 feature that allows AI assistants to access app windows in the taskbar. The feature—called “Share any window from my taskbar with virtual assistant”—allows you to share a specific window with, for example, Copilot without manually starting a traditional screen share. However, the AI assistant can’t take control of the app—so far, it’s only a reading and support layer. The feature is optional and disabled by default. It can be turned on or off completely via the settings in Windows 11.
