"Pro-government and opposition students clashed at Tehran’s Khajeh Nasir Toosi University of Technology on Tuesday, as rival waves of protest swept across Iranian campuses. Footage shows a group of students and university staff intervening in an attempt to separate protesters inside a university hall, as one group of demonstrators waves Iranian flags and chants slogans. According to reports, the incident in broke out following a student rally on Tuesday. The university has not released an official statement regarding the incident at the time of publication. On the same day, during a press conference, Iranian government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani affirmed the 'right to protest'; however, she emphasised the need to respect 'red lines: sacred things and the flag are examples of red lines that must be protected'. Tensions come as Iranian universities have experienced renewed unrest since the start of the academic semester on Saturday, amid ongoing repercussions from protests in several cities over the past two months."
