Fair weather likely over entire PH due to easterlies —Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines – The easterlies would continue to prevail and bring humid and warm weather over Metro Manila and the rest of the archipelago at least over the next 24 hours, the state weather bureau said on Wednesday. Weather specialist Chenel Dominguez of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the agency has not monitored any low-pressure area forming inside or outside the country’s area of responsibility for the coming days. She said in a 5 a.m. briefing that the effect of the northeast monsoon, locally known as ‘amihan’, has weakened as it was not affecting any particular area at present. “Amihan was also seen to resurface maybe by the weekend, but its strong effects would no longer be felt,” the Pagasa forecaster said. While sultry weather is likely, especially late morning until mid-afternoon, isolated downpours and thunderstorms can still be expected in late afternoon or at night, still due to the prevailing weather system, the state-run weather agency said.
