MANILA, Philippines — A prayer march began Wednesday morning at the Edsa Shrine as part of the commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the 1986 People Power Revolution. Participants first gathered at the Edsa Shrine for a rosary prayer before marching toward the People Power Monument. Civil society groups carried placards bearing calls for accountability and to end corruption. Among those joining are Tindig Pilipinas, Union Theological Seminary, Akbayan Partylist, Partido Manggagawa, and People Power Volunteers for Reform.
