Edsa at 40: Divided civic movement, enduring old politics

The Philippines commemorates the 40th anniversary of Edsa today,  February 25, but a political science associate professor warned of a dilemma that, to this day, remains vivid in people’s memories: The democracy restored in 1986 has still not fully paved the way for meaningful elections, real accountability for corruption, or a unified spirit behind civic action.
