MANILA, Philippines — The EDSA-Ortigas intersection was temporarily closed to vehicular traffic on Wednesday as rallyists participating in the “Trillion Peso March 3” gathered in line with the 40th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said. The MMDA said the high volume of participants blocked the intersection, prompting authorities to shut down the area to vehicles. Motorists were advised to take alternate routes as traffic buildup was reported on surrounding roads. For EDSA northbound, vehicles are advised to take Pioneer Street, Madison Street, Reliance Street, then proceed to Shaw Boulevard. For EDSA southbound, motorists may take Boni Serrano, Ortigas Avenue, and Shaw Boulevard as alternative routes. For Ortigas eastbound, vehicles may take C5 Road, Temple Drive, and Katipunan Avenue, while those heading westbound may take Shaw Boulevard toward San Juan and Manila.
