Accessible prayer areas readied for people with disabilities and elders at Grand Mosque during Ramadan

MAKKAH— The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques has provided specially equipped prayer areas for people with disabilities and senior worshipers at the Grand Mosque in Makkah. These spaces were designed with accessibility and comfort in mind, reflecting the authority’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of services for visitors to the Two Holy Mosques and facilitate worship for all segments of society during the month of Ramadan. The prayer areas are located near the main entrances of the Grand Mosque and are supplied with Zamzam water and copies of the Qur’an, creating a supportive environment that allows worshipers to perform their prayers with ease and serenity. For men, prayer spaces have been set up in key locations, including the ground floor opposite Gate 68, the first floor opposite Gate 91, the southern courtyard near Ajyad Bridge, the eastern courtyard, and the Third Saudi Expansion near Gate 123. Designated women’s prayer areas are available in multiple locations, including the ground floor near Gate 88, the ground floor in the Al-Shubaikah area near Gate 68, and the southern courtyard near Ajyad Bridge.
