Hyderabad Kingsmen share update on Glen Maxwell’s availability for PSL 11

Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has signed a multi-year deal with Kingsmen enterprise and is set to represent Hyderabad Kingsmen in the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), franchise officials said. Speaking on the Gully Kirkut Show on Tuesday, Iqra Farooqui, Operations Director and General Manager of Hyderabad Kingsmen, confirmed that Maxwell’s association with Kingsmen extends beyond the PSL. “Maxwell is in contract with Kingsmen enterprise even outside the PSL. We have a multi-year contract with him even after his playing days. He also knows our salary caps, so he was willing to join us on whatever salary cap available,” he said. Farooqui added that Maxwell will initially replace Marnus Labuschagne for the first three to four matches of PSL 11. However, there is a possibility that the Australian all-rounder could continue for the entire season if another replacement is required. After the PSL 11 auction, Hyderabad Kingsmen had less than Rs20 million remaining in their purse, but officials clarified that the signing amount was not an issue as Maxwell is part of the broader Kingsmen setup. Earlier, the franchise confirmed Maxwell’s signing for PSL 11 after he opted out of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season. “I am happy to be part of the Pakistan Super League and to represent Hyderabad. I have always received a lot of love from Pakistan. It is an honour to represent the Hyderabad team. See you in PSL,” Maxwell had said. The explosive all-rounder’s arrival is expected to provide a major boost to Hyderabad Kingsmen as they prepare for PSL 11, with the franchise banking on his experience and match-winning ability in white-ball cricket.
