JOINT teams led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Philippine National Police (PNP), and the Valenzuela City government have dismantled a huge clandestine laboratory where they seized about 900 kilos of illegal drugs worth P6.6 billion in Barangay (village) Veinte Reales. Mayor Weslie Gatchalian and PDEA Director General Isagani Nerez, in a briefing on Wednesday, said one person was arrested, and three other suspects, whose nationalities were not disclosed, are being hunted. The PDEA also confiscated 64.15 liters of liquid methamphetamine worth P436.22 million. Nerez said they only announced the seizure on Wednesday because they had to conduct a complete inventory. He thanked the local government and the city police for their support. Nerez described the latest operation as one of the most significant drug laboratory discoveries in recent years.
