RIYADH — As of Wednesday, donations to the sixth edition of the National Campaign for Charitable Work have exceeded SR700 million. The campaign is being carried out through the Ehsan National Platform for Charitable Work. According to figures on the platform, total public donations raised since the launch of the campaign in 2021 have reached SR14.7 billion, representing 345.5 million donations. Total donations this year alone stood at SR1.298 billion. Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman have donated a total of SR70 million to the campaign. The King donated SR40 million, while the Crown Prince’s donation amounted to SR30 million. The donations were an extension of the generous and unlimited support and commitment from the part of the Saudi leadership for fostering charitable work in the Kingdom. Several companies, commercial firms, and non-profit organizations have also contributed to the campaign. A total of SR646 million has been raised on the first day of the campaign, which was launched through Ehsan platform in Riyadh on Friday, Feb. 20. The National Campaign for Charitable Work operates with advanced digital governance, enabling the community to donate through official and secure channels for the services and programs offered by the Ehsan platform. It is worthy to note that the Ehsan platform operates with the support of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) and enjoys continuous support from the Saudi leadership to ensure its high-level governance and the secure receipt and delivery of donations to those in need. A Shariah committee oversees the platform to ensure its compliance with Islamic law. Ehsan platform continues to receive donations throughout the month of Ramadan from individuals and organizations across the governmental, private, and non-profit sectors via the platform’s website (http://ehsan.sa), mobile application, unified number 8001247000, and designated bank accounts.
