Peace and stability across the country: Centre, provinces agree to evolve strategy

ISLAMABAD: The federal and provincial governments on Wednesday agreed to evolve a coordinated strategy to ensure peace and stability across the country. The decision to this was taken in a meeting on law and order presided over by Minister of State for Interior Tallal Chaudhry, said a senior official. He said that the meeting conducted a comprehensive review of the overall law and order situation across the country. The meeting also reached a consensus on adopting a joint strategy aimed at ensuring peace and stability nationwide. The development comes amid the surge of terrorist attacks, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, carried out by Fitna Al Khawarij and Fitna Al Hindustan — state-designated names for terror outfits backed by Indian proxies. He said that the centre assured provincial governments of the provision of necessary resources and technical support to maintain law and order during the meeting. The official said that Inspector General of Police (IGPs) of all provinces, home secretaries, Secretary Ministry of Interior and IGP Islamabad attend the meeting. Copyright Business Recorder, 2026
