MANILA, Philippines — An alleged member of terrorist group has been arrested at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1. The PNP Aviation Security Group (Avsegroup) reported Thursday that government agents apprehended the suspect, 37, an alleged member of the Dawlah Islamiyah-Nilong Group, who is wanted for multiple counts of frustrated murder, on Wednesday. The suspect, on board a flight from Los Angeles, Calitfornia, was flagged during a routine immigration screening through a high-level alert list coordination. "He was promptly intercepted by joint operatives implementing a standing warrant issued by the court," the Avsegroup said, adding that it was a coordinated multi-agency operation involving the Avsegroup, Intelligence Group, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), and the US-Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Brig. Gen. Dionisio B. Bartolome, Avsegroup director, said that the warrant of arrest was issued by the Regional Trial Court in General Santos City on July 1, 2025, in connection with multiple counts of frustrated murder. The suspect was later turned over to the custody of the NBI for proper disposition and further legal proceedings.
