MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday inaugurated the Pag-Abot Processing Center in Cebu as part of his administration's commitment to move street dwellers off sidewalks and back into stable homes. The facility, a program by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), provides health services, food, clothing, psychosocial and livelihood support, temporary housing, and family reintegration to help beneficiaries transition to stable and dignified lives. In Cebu, more than 600 homeless individuals have been recorded by the DSWD. Launched in 2023 and institutionalized in 2024, the program is implemented by the DSWD in coordination with the Department of the Interior and Local Government and local government units. It includes efforts to enroll qualified beneficiaries in the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) and other social protection initiatives.
