Bayan seeks release of protesters nabbed during People Power anniv

MANILA, Philippines — Militant group Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) called for the immediate release of the two protesters arrested Wednesday amid the commemoration of the 1986 Edsa People Power. Bayan on Thursday named the two protesters, Edel Parducho and Three Odeña, who were apprehended for allegedly hitting police on their way to the Edsa Shrine rally. “It is the police who should be made to account for the use of violence and failing to practice maximum tolerance during the protest,” Bayan said in a statement.
