"UK PM Keir Starmer's National Security Adviser Jonathan Powell was spotted ahead of talks between the US and Ukraine in Geneva on Thursday. Footage shows him in the lobby of the InterContinental Hotel. Powell was also seen at the same hotel in Geneva during the trilateral between the US, Russia and Ukraine this month, although his exact involvement in both sets of talks remained unclear. Earlier this week, Russian intelligence suggested that the UK and France could be set to supply Ukraine with nuclear weapons, although this was later denied by the Europeans. The UK also has a track record for alleged 'meddling' in talks on Ukraine - notably through former PM Boris Johnson. According to media reports, Davyd Arakhamia - who led Ukraine's delegation on peace talks in 2022 - claimed that Russia proposed an end to hostilities if Kiev agreed not to join NATO - but also said that Johnson told the team to "not sign anything with them at all, and let's just fight". The former PM has denied trying to influence the delegation. Johnson later quit in disgrace, while Powell's own boss, Keir Starmer, has also been under pressure to resign - with scandals including the row over his former US ambassador's links to paedophile billionaire Jeffrey Epstein. Powell was also behind the controversial Chagos deal which descended into chaos in London on Wednesday, when the government said it had paused the plan to hand the islands back to Mauritius - before then insisting it hadn't just hours later.
