"Doctors and medical workers joined the 'No lists, no targets' flash mob in Rome on Thursday, denouncing Israel's ban on aid NGOs that did not hand over the names of their staff. Footage shows protesters in scrubs holding Palestinian flags and delivering speeches in support of Gaza outside San Giovanni Hospital. "We are here, in front of our hospitals, because healthcare workers are not neutral when treatment is turned into a crime," one of the activists, Paola Allori, commented. "We absolutely must continue to draw attention to what is happening and to the level of inhumanity that continues unabated. As a doctor and as a citizen, we cannot fail to talk about health and humanity," another demonstrator added. Some of the flash mob participants went on to accuse Israel of planning to use lists of NGO Palestinians workers as 'certain targets'. "This request for denunciation aims to force NGOs to participate in the colonial policy of surveillance and control of Gazans," Elisa Cennamo stated. According to the new national security measure, the aid NGOs must submit to Israeli authorities copies of passports, CVs and names of family members, including children, of their workers. Since the start of the war in Gaza in October 2023, Israel has withdrawn the licences of 37 aid organisations due to their failure to share data about their employees, funding and operations as of February 26. The flash mob called by the ‘Healthcare workers for Gaza’ organisation was reportedly held simultaneously in over 50 hospitals on Thursday."
